A Resource for Helping Seniors Who Are Planning for the Future & Managing the Unexpected

Anna Helps Seniors is a resource designed to help seniors and their families with a variety of situations that come with aging—finding and funding in-home care, transitioning to a senior living community, health insurance, transportation, socialization, and much more.

While it is nice to plan for your future, we understand that sometimes life just happens. That’s okay. We’ve been there and we want to help!

Are you and your loved ones prepared for the golden years?

Anna Helps Seniors was formed as an informational website to help seniors and their adult children understand the resources available to them as they navigate common situations that come with aging.  Our experience is that many families wait until there is a crisis before they begin discussing the senior’s wishes or planning for future care. We aim to share our knowledge and experience to be the resource we wish we would have had on our journey.

For example, what if an unexpected health problem makes it unsafe for a senior to live independently in their home? Moving to a new home or community at any time in life – especially later in life – can be challenging. But seniors who feel vulnerable because of declining health can be put at ease if others around them are informed, calm, and supportive. That’s where Anna and her team come in! We have the training and experience to help families make the most informed decisions for their unique situation, especially when it comes to selling a family home or addressing all the personal belongings that have accumulated over the years.

Here are some primary takeaways for making the transition into the golden years as smooth as possible:

  • Education is empowering. The more you can learn about healthy aging and senior living options, the better. Using good resources and calling upon professionals who are experts in their field and truly want to help, will leave everyone better off – physically and emotionally.
  • Prepare for the unexpected. When we get older, things can change very quickly. It’s helpful to be informed of senior resources in advance if possible. In an instant, a fall could cause serious injury requiring in-home or long-term care with limited time to make decisions.
  • Come from a place of compassion. For seniors who have been very independent their entire lives, losing control (even the perception of losing control) can cause great distress. We are here to listen and help create a plan you’re comfortable with.
  • Start difficult conversations early. The sooner we can have the often-hard conversations about aging and end-of-life wishes, the better our relationships can be and the more peace of mind we can have.
  • Don’t wait for a crisis. Making decisions in a time of crisis can be incredibly difficult. Understanding all of your options can take time, so if we can begin to think and talk about the key issues before a crisis situation happens, we can pave the way for everyone to have a less traumatic experience later.

What is a Senior Transition Specialist?

Senior Transition Specialists are advocates for seniors and specialize in helping families transition their aging loved ones into senior care.

“My personal experience with transitioning my dad from his home into senior care inspired me to help ease the burden for others going through similar situations.

Many families just don’t know where to begin or that help is even available. I wish I’d understood the senior landscape earlier in life and been more knowledgeable about options and resources. Today, equipped with life experience and research, I am delighted to help families by removing some of the stress related to finding and funding senior care.”

Not sure where to start or what questions to ask? We get it, because we’ve been there with our own aging parents. In our work with seniors and families a lot of questions come up around senior care and common challenges that come with aging. We are often asked: “Do I need to sell my house?” or “What am I going to do with all the stuff in my house if I have to move?”. Our company, Anna Buys Houses, created this site as a comprehensive resource for answering some of the questions we regularly receive. We help evaluate options for the sale of the senior’s home if that becomes necessary to transition into a senior living community. Whatever your situation, let us know how we can help.
